Middelburg is something to experience. You can undergo this experience in one of the city’s many attractions - what is has on offer is enormously varied. Even saying “there’s something for everyone” is hardly enough to do them justice.
Abbey complex. This magnificent complex creates a centre of tranquility in the heart of the inner city.
“De Kruitmolen” bowling centre. Relaxation and activity combined. Bowling becomes even more fun when the black lights go on and the disco bowling starts.
Indoor Karting. Go all-out on the winding kart track of this go-karting centre in the suburbs of Middelburg.
Cheesemaking farms. Just outside the city you will find two cheesemaking farms, Schellach and Pitteperk. You can go there for delicious cheese and for explanations and tours.
Kanoa canoe rental. Paddling is the way to explore the outskirts of Middelburg.
De Klepperhoeve children’s farm. The sweetest and cuddliest farm animals all gathered in a single place.
Art and Culture route Galleries and studios open their doors to the public on the first Sunday of every month.
Lange Jan. The abbey tower dominates the view of the city of Middelburg. You can climb all the way up its 207 steps.
Miniatuur Walcheren. At Walcheren Model Village you can see the most beautiful buildings of Walcheren, in miniature. There is lots of play equipment for children there.
Horse-drawn trams. Two horse-drawn trams ride through the centre of Middelburg. You can take a ride any time you want, but special programmes can also be arranged on request.
Dijkhuizen boats. This company’s boats take you on a magnificent trip along the ‘Kanaal door Walcheren’ to the small historic town of Veere.
Roadhouse. This popular pool hall has plenty of snooker tables and pool tables, all waiting for you to come and have a game.
Middelburg boat trip. Middelburg can be discovered best by boat. On the way you will hear interesting stories about the city’s history.
Skydive Zeeland. For a unique view of Middelburg, jump high in the sky out of a plane and glide down safely to the ground on your parachute.
Town Hall. This magnificent late Gothic building is overflowing with history. You can take a tour and learn everything about it.
City walks. You will visit the most beautiful spots of Middelburg during a tour that is full of interesting stories.
Groot Prooyen stables. Would you care for a riding lesson or would you just like to ride around in the arena? Then this is where you want to be!
Tennis courts. Enjoy sports in the open air. In Middelburg you can either go to Tennispark De Veste or to Tennisclub Dauwendaele.
Utropia. This is one of the most exotic places in Middelburg, with absolutely splendid plants and birds.
Phillippus Lansbergen Public Observatory. On the open evenings, everyone can come to this astronomical observatory and take a look at the universe.
